NNPCL’s Monthly Profit Soars By 91% To N539bn.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reported a 91.3 percent rise in its monthly profit, reaching N539 billion in August 2025, an increase from N185 billion recorded in July.

As outlined in its Monthly Report Summary for August 2025, the firm's revenue climbed to N4.655 trillion, in comparison with N4.406 trillion posted in July. It further noted that a cumulative amount of N8.86 trillion had been paid into the Federation Account between January and July 2025.

Regarding production, the report revealed that Nigeria produced an average of 1.65 million barrels of crude oil per day in August, indicating a 2.9 percent reduction from 1.7 million barrels per day recorded in July. Gas production also declined by 10 percent to 6,949mmscf/d, down from 7,722mmscf/d in the preceding month.

NNPCL ascribed the fall to "scheduled maintenance across some upstream facilities", in accordance with Nigeria LNG’s "Turn Around Maintenance (TAM)". It stated that a joint effort within the industry was ongoing to enhance output following the maintenance operations.

Giving details on gas infrastructure developments, the organisation revealed that construction on the "Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline" had reached "84 percent completion", with building efforts continuing at multiple sites to quicken the project’s finalisation.

It additionally confirmed that the "Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline" had achieved "96 percent completion".

The company mentioned that a total of "113 kilometres of the pipeline have been commissioned", delivering about "300mmscf/d of gas" from suppliers such as "AHL (250mmscf/d)", as well as "Platform", "Chorus", and "Xenergi (50mmscf/d)".
