*PMAN Debunks False “Takeover” Narrative at Monaco Site; Confirms Lawful Police Intervention and Ongoing Criminal Investigations*

Pretty Okafor.

The Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) issues this statement to correct false claims circulating about an alleged “takeover” of PMAN’s Monaco site in Abuja and to update stakeholders on ongoing law-enforcement actions.

Recently, PMAN placed a public caution sign at the Monaco site urging anyone who bought plots or units from Olusco Heritage & Investment Ltd (“Olusco”) to come forward. Since then, numerous individuals have contacted PMAN claiming to have purchased plots/units from Olusco. This influx of calls reinforces PMAN’s long-standing concern that unauthorised sales have been made on PMAN’s land, allegedly in concert with Mr. Boniface Itodo and Mr. Zakky Azzay, with Mr. Fruitful Mekwunye now publicly aligning himself with the group.

This situation is not union politics; it is a serious criminal matter under active investigation. According to petitions and materials already before law enforcement, Olusco allegedly obtained over ₦350,000,000.00 from G & D Building & Engineering Ltd. and induced further expenditure exceeding ₦1.5 billion at the Monaco site. PMAN has provided documents to investigators indicating that these acts were bolstered by misrepresentations of authority, including by persons who, at the material time, had been dismissed or suspended from PMAN roles.

This Earlier today, video evidence shows Mr. Oluwafemi Olumeyan (Olusco) and Mr. Boniface Itodo arriving at the Monaco site with a crowd, using women and children as a human shield, and tearing down PMAN’s caution notice board. On being alerted, police officers lawfully intervened to prevent a breach of the peace. Plain cloth police officers had approached Oluwafemi Olumeyan to effect his arrest. Upon sighting the police, Oluwafemi Olumeya and accompanying men fled the scene, with a vehicle nearly striking a police officer while speeding away.

To be clear: There was no “takeover.” Police presence was for lawful crowd control and preservation of the res. Order has been restored, and PMAN’s caution sign is being re-erected. Any assertion that Olusco now controls the site is fa

PMAN notes that Mr. Olumeyan has repeatedly failed to honour police invitations and has filed a Fundamental Rights action against the Police and Mr. Olayinka Alade (MD, G & D) while evading engagement on the substance of the allegations. We urge Mr. Olumeyan to cooperate fully with investigators and stop using women and children as shield.

PMAN draws attention to a Police Investigation Report issued by the IGP Monitoring Unit, which—based on materials PMAN and other parties supplied—identifies a prima facie case involving, among other offences, obtaining by false pretences, cheating, threats/violence, assault causing harm, and conduct likely to breach the peace. PMAN continues to cooperate with law enforcement and will furnish any additional evidence requested, including videos and witness statements related to today’s events.

PMAN remains the landowner. Any transaction without PMAN’s written consent is void.
Individuals who bought plots/units from Olusco or its agents are encouraged to come forward with proof of payment, allocation/offer letters, receipts, and communication records to aid verification and potential recovery processes.

PMAN will continue working with law enforcement to protect innocent purchasers and to hold wrongdoers accountable.

PMAN will not allow its land or name to be used as a front for unauthorised sales or intimidation. We thank the Nigeria Police Force for acting swiftly to de-escalate today’s incident and for the thorough investigation already undertaken. Those who purchased in good faith should come forward. Those behind these schemes should face the law.

PMAN stands ready to brief regulators and credible media and to share, upon request and where appropriate, certified extracts of the Police Investigation Report and time-stamped video stills from today’s incident.
