Nigerian media personality and businesswoman, Tacha Akide, is preparing to make history with the inaugural Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day showcase of beauty, culture, and creativity, set to take place from 10–12 October 2025 at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History, Lagos.
The main attraction of the festival will be Tacha’s bold Guinness World Record attempt for the Most Cosmetic Makeovers by an Individual in 24 Hours, with a goal of 150 makeovers. The achievement is intended to highlight Nigeria’s flourishing beauty and lifestyle sector on the international stage.
“This is more than a record attempt. It is a statement that Nigerian creativity and excellence can compete anywhere in the world,” said Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism. “The Tacha Beauty Festival is about empowering talent, celebrating culture, and creating a space where beauty meets opportunity. Lagos State is proud to support this project.”
The event will include workshops and masterclasses covering makeup, hair, skincare, wellness, and fashion. A Vendor Village and exhibitions will also link local businesses with thousands of attendees, fostering growth and collaboration.
By combining beauty, enterprise, and culture, the Tacha Beauty Festival is anticipated to motivate participants, boost economic development in the beauty sector, and further establish Nigeria as a centre of global creative innovation.
