The death and burial of beautiful anchor of Arise News, model and beauty queen, Somtochukwu Maduagwu may have come and gone with her final burial which took place over the weekend in her hometown, but the family seem to have doubts about how her death occurred with information that armed robbers invaded her home with the intention to rob the entire building but out of fear, the 29yrs old broadcaster jumped from her flat to her death.

But her father, Engr. Ifeanyi Maduagwu who was offshore when the incident happened, had his doubts about the incident leading to her death.

In an interview with the BBC Igbo, the highly pained father of Sommie insistsed that his daughter, a lawyer, philanthropist and broadcaster, whom he claimed to have spoken with on the 11th of September, says that Sommie was murdered.

According to him, Sommie was a child who could not even jump from a table, was now said to have jumped from a 3storey building, insisting that it was a complete lie that she jumped, asking the police to do thorough investigation into the matter to find out exactly how Sommie died.

I believe my daughter, Sommie Maduagwu was murdered and I want justice for myself and the entire family, Engr. Ifeanyi Maduagwu says.

Sommie was killed during an armed robbery incident in her compound on the 29th of September and was buried in her hometown in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State on the 18th of October 2025.
