President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday welcomed Denmark’s wealthiest man and Chief Executive Officer of Bestseller, Anders Holch Povlsen, to the State House in Abuja.

The meeting, announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, through his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, was part of the administration’s ongoing initiative to attract foreign investment and enhance Nigeria’s economic cooperation with Denmark.

According to Onanuga, Povlsen, who also heads the Bestseller Foundation, attended the meeting alongside the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens Hansen, and other top Danish representatives.

Also present were the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani.

Onanuga posted, “Denmark’s richest man, Mr. Anders Holch Povlsen of BESTSELLER & BESTSELLER FOUNDATION, visited President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, Tuesday, October 28, 2025.”

The visit took place as part of President Tinubu’s continuous drive to strengthen international partnerships and attract foreign direct investment into the country.

Recent figures released by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, revealed that the President’s foreign engagements had led to proposed investment commitments worth $50.8 billion.

Dr Oduwole stated that the government is collaborating with major economies such as Brazil, India, France, and the United Arab Emirates to stimulate trade and industrial development.

“As of December, Mr. President’s over 30 international trips have generated $50.8 billion in announcements,” she said, noting that the administration is determined to ensure these commitments yield tangible economic benefits.

Povlsen’s visit is expected to deepen Nigeria–Denmark relations and open fresh opportunities for trade, innovation, and private sector collaboration.
