President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting the confirmation of Professor Joash Amupitan as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, read the letter of request during Tuesday’s plenary session, along with other communications from the President seeking approval for several appointments.
According to the letter, the request was made in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution.
As reported by the Nigeria Television Authority, the request has been forwarded to the committee of the whole for consideration.
