Africa’s richest man and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has seen his wealth grow to $30.2 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index report.

Bloomberg’s latest ranking positioned Dangote as the 75th richest individual globally.

Dangote holds a controlling interest in Dangote Cement Plc, the largest cement producer in sub-Saharan Africa, which is listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

He is also the owner of Dangote Refinery, the largest oil refining facility on the African continent.

Commissioned on May 22, 2023, the Dangote Oil Refinery is valued at $20 billion and stands as his most prized asset. Dangote owns 92.3 per cent of the refinery, while the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, retains 7.3 per cent.

The refinery, located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, is the main driver behind the recent increase in Dangote’s net worth.
