774 NNPP Members Defect To APC.

A total of 774 former members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rimin Gado Local Government Area of Kano State.

They were received on Friday by Alhaji Rabiu Bichi, Managing Director of the Hadejia–Jam’are River Basin Development Authority, who praised them for taking what he described as a wise and timely political step. He maintained that the APC remains the only party with the capacity to deliver genuine national development.

Bichi pointed to President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing projects in the North as proof of the administration’s commitment, noting that over 18 major federal projects worth billions of naira have already been completed in Kano State. He added that the Federal Government has been releasing substantial development funds to state governments, although some states were allegedly diverting the money for other uses.

He emphasised that the Renewed Hope Agenda is already recording positive impacts, including economic improvements and enhanced food security through expanded agricultural programmes. Bichi assured the defectors that they would be fully absorbed into the APC and treated as long-standing members.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Mohammad Karofin-Yashi said the move was motivated by the visible development efforts of the APC administration. He expressed confidence that the party would take both Kano State and the country to greater heights.

Karofin-Yashi also pledged to bring in more NNPP members who are preparing to switch to the APC in the coming days.
