The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop frequenting nightclubs and concentrate on governing the state.
APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement, accused Adeleke of neglecting his duties by spending time partying across the Southwest instead of addressing pressing state matters.
The party condemned the governor for abandoning the plight of students in state-owned higher institutions who are struggling with excessive and unjustified tuition fees.
“Instead of tackling these challenges, the governor has been seen moving from one nightclub to another, wasting resources that should be invested in education and other critical sectors,” the statement added.
The APC also mocked Adeleke’s recent dance performance at a music concert in Ibadan, calling it inappropriate and a distraction from serious governance.
In response, Governor Adeleke dismissed the allegations, describing them as desperate tactics from a party losing support.
Through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke emphasised his careful stewardship of state funds aimed at improving health, infrastructure, education, business, sports, agriculture, technology, workers’ welfare, and pensions.
He described the APC’s claims as “falsehoods” meant to discredit the government’s achievements, which have been recognised locally and internationally.
