CSO Reveals Real Reason Behind US Threats To Nigeria.

Trump.

The Nigerian Government’s refusal to accept former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to host American deportees and allow the establishment of a U.S. military base in the country has been identified as the actual reason behind the recent threats from the United States, not allegations of Christian persecution.

This claim was made by the Chairman of Grassroot Advocacy for Peace and Good Governance, Usman Muhammed Anache, during a press conference held in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.

According to him, the U.S. is unhappy with Nigeria for rejecting its request to establish a military base in the country after the withdrawal of American troops from Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso — an effort that was intended to enhance the U.S. military’s monitoring of the West African region.

He added that Nigeria’s registration and membership in the New United Bloc (BRICS) is another move that has not been well received by the United States.

“The calculated attempt to undermine Nigeria’s sovereignty has been a long-term plan by the U.S., which has failed in the past, is failing now, and will continue to fail in the future. They have now resorted to using religion, knowing that Nigerians are deeply religious and patriotic,” he said.

Anache also commended some Christian leaders who strongly refuted Trump’s allegations, pointing out that violent attacks in Nigeria affect both Muslims and Christians.

He praised the Nigerian Government for its commitment to maintaining peace across West Africa and encouraged it not to be swayed by threats from the U.S.

“The divisive tactic of using religion to divide and rule Nigeria, which has been their plan since 1960, will never succeed, not now, not ever,” Anache declared.

It will be recalled that the United States recently threatened to deploy its military arsenal against those it accused of being responsible for what it described as genocide against Christians in northern Nigeria.

However, Trump’s statement triggered widespread reactions both within and outside the country.
