President Bola Tinubu received Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, at the State House in Abuja on Monday.
During the discussions, Tinubu explained that the reforms introduced by his administration aim to equip Nigerian youths with globally competitive skills to secure their future.
“Our goal is to use education to drive down poverty,” Tinubu said.
The Presidential Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, released further details of the engagement in an official statement.
“We will be participating in the G-20 this week,” Tinubu said.
“It is the third time Africa is hosting the G-20. And the central issue is about our youth. We need to strengthen the economy for our youth.
“The reforms are about growth and prosperity for the nation.”
In his remarks, Prince Edward praised the reforms implemented under Tinubu’s leadership.
He also noted that the Lagos events would recognise young Nigerians who are “pursuing their passions, developing relevant skills, and contributing to the nation’s growth and development.”
