Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has forwarded the names of 30 individuals proposed as commissioners to the State House of Assembly for vetting and confirmation, in accordance with constitutional requirements.
The nomination list was submitted following comprehensive consultations, with selections based on the nominees’ proven integrity, expertise, and commitment to advancing the development agenda of Niger State.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, the governor emphasised that the appointments demonstrate his administration’s dedication to inclusivity, competence, and the continued progress of the “New Niger” vision through effective governance in all sectors.
The nominees will undergo necessary security screenings before final approval. Governor Bago congratulated the candidates and urged them to stay focused on the goal of transforming Niger State into a model of sustainable growth and accountable leadership.
The 30 commissioner nominees and their respective local government areas are:
Muhammad Qasim Danjuma (Agaie), Barr. Mohammed Bello Agwara (Agwara), Dr Hadiza Asabe Mohammed (Bida), Sulaiman Umar (Bida), Dr Murtala Bagana (Bida), Abdulrazaq Muazu Jakada (Borgu), Umar Rabe Sanda (Bosso), Ladidi Bawa Bosso (Bosso).
Also included are Barr. Nasiru Muazu (Chanchaga), Faruk Umar Audi (Chanchaga), Jacob Baba Yisa (Edati), Abdullahi Adamu Mamagi (Gbako), Haruna Abubakar Magaji (Gurara), Adamu Abdullahi Sheshi (Katcha), Lawal Maikano (Kontagora), Phalal Mohammed Bako (Kontagora), Muazu Hamidu Jantabo (Lapai), and Mustapha Ndajiwo (Lavun).
Others are Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Auna (Magama), Kabiru Abbas (Mariga), Abubakar Umar Abule (Mashegu), Aminu Suleiman Takuma (Mokwa), Barr. Maurice Magaji (Munya), Abubakar Musa Abule (Paikoro), Ahmed Ibrahim Inga (Rafi), Isah Sidi Rijau (Rijau), Hadiza Idris Kuta (Shiroro), Abdullahi Maje (Suleja), Obed Nana (Tafa), and Bashir Mohammed Lokogoma (Wushishi).
