Lagos State Government has dismissed fresh online reports suggesting a rise in kidnapping incidents along the Gbagada Expressway.
The claims, circulated through a flyer falsely presented as an official government notice, warned road users about supposed abductions in the vicinity.
The message also alleged that criminals were using the ‘one chance’ method and operating in commercial vehicles to target innocent commuters.
Reacting on his official X page on Friday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile, stated: “Good morning Lagos, please beware of this fake news in circulation again! We’ve addressed it in the past, but purveyors of fakery are not tired of recycling this rubbish. Kindly ignore it. Thank you.”
