Malami Released After EFCC Questioning, Set For Another Session.

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has announced that his recent session with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) concluded positively and that he has been released, though he is expected to return for additional questioning.

In an update shared on his X account early Saturday, Malami thanked Allah for the successful engagement and assured Nigerians that the truth behind the “fabricated allegations” against him will soon be revealed.

He stated, “As promised, I’m keeping Nigerians informed about my EFCC invitation. I thank Allah for His divine intervention. The meeting was fruitful, and I have been released, with another appointment set, as the truth about these false claims continues to unfold.”

Malami was summoned by the EFCC to address accusations of misconduct during his tenure.

Before the meeting, he expressed readiness to cooperate fully with the commission, emphasising his commitment to transparency and responsible leadership.

“I want my family and friends to know that the EFCC invited me to clarify certain issues, and as a law-abiding citizen and patriot, I will comply willingly,” he said.

He reaffirmed his long-standing support for honesty, integrity, and accountability in leadership.

“I will continue to keep Nigerians updated on any new developments to ensure everyone is aware of what will happen next,” Malami added.
