The Nigerian Air Force launched a successful bombing operation targeting a terrorist hideout in Sambisa Forest, eliminating several insurgents and demolishing their camp.
This airstrike came shortly after terrorists ambushed forces along the Damboa axis in Borno State, killing two soldiers and two Civilian Joint Task Force members.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s spokesperson, shared details of the operation in a statement on Wednesday evening.
He said the strikes were carried out the previous day in the Sambisa general area after extensive intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions monitored terrorist activities, especially following the October 17 ambush at KASHOMRI.
“Continuous ISR coverage around KASHOMRI and Sambisa uncovered suspicious activities and active terrorist compounds at ARRA, leading to a targeted, intelligence-led airstrike.
“NAF aircraft successfully engaged designated targets through multiple coordinated passes.
“The operation effectively destroyed all identified enemy positions, greatly weakening terrorist capabilities and disrupting their command and supply lines,” the spokesperson concluded.
