The National Youth Service Corps has begun the physical verification of documents belonging to foreign-trained Nigerian graduates who registered for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ service year.

According to the agency, the exercise, which runs from Monday, November 10, to Wednesday, November 12, 2025, will take place simultaneously across selected verification centres nationwide.

In a statement titled “Notification of Physical Verification of Credentials and Travel Documents of Foreign-Trained Graduates for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Service Year,” the NYSC explained that the verification is meant for prospective corps members whose credentials have not yet undergone physical assessment after completing their online registration.

The announcement, which was also shared via the NYSC’s official X account on Sunday night, listed the approved centres as follows: NYSC Secretariat, 2 Abakaliki Road, GRA, Enugu; Shadawanka Military Barracks, Bauchi; NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja; Bukavu Military Barracks, Fagge, Airport Road, Kano; NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos; NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo; NYSC Secretariat, 40 Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt; Eagle Officers Mess, Gingiya Military Barracks, Gusau Road, Sokoto; and NYSC Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yola.

To maintain order and avoid overcrowding, the Corps advised all prospective participants to strictly adhere to the date, time, and venue indicated on their verification slips.

It further directed that candidates must present original copies of all credentials and travel documents uploaded during registration. Medical graduates are also required to bring along their practising licences, registration certificates, and other relevant documents issued by recognised professional bodies.

For graduates who obtained their qualifications abroad, the NYSC stated that they must submit original copies of evaluation letters issued by the Federal Ministry of Education (if applicable) to the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja and upload acknowledged copies online.

The Corps emphasised that only those who have been physically seen, verified, and cleared at the centres will be considered for deployment, exemption, or exclusion from national service.

The NYSC urged all affected graduates to strictly follow the given instructions and ensure they appear at their assigned verification centres within the scheduled period.

The announcement follows the Corps’ earlier decision to extend the online registration period for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ mobilisation by 48 hours due to network disruptions encountered by some applicants. The new deadline is expected to expire at midnight on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

In recent years, concerns have persisted over fake foreign degrees, with some Nigerians allegedly acquiring certificates from unaccredited or non-existent institutions overseas.
