Paystack Suspends Co-Founder Over Sexual Misconduct Allegation.

Paystack has suspended one of its co-founders and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following allegations of workplace sexual misconduct.

According to a report by TechCabal, the company initiated a formal investigation after the allegations began circulating widely on social media on 12 November.

Olubi’s X account has been deleted, but trending posts suggest the tweets being referenced were made before he co-founded Paystack.

The posts, published between 2009 and 2013, contained sexually explicit jokes about colleagues and comments about having erections during meetings.

They also included remarks about wanting to take pictures of a coworker’s thighs, as well as statements that referenced minors, bestiality, and sexualised anime characters.

“Paystack is aware of the allegations involving our Co-founder, Ezra Olubi,” the company told TechCabal.

“We take matters of this nature extremely seriously. Effective immediately, Ezra has been suspended from all duties and responsibilities pending the outcome of a formal investigation.”

The firm added that, to respect everyone involved and maintain the integrity of the process, it would not release further comments until the investigation is concluded.

Paystack stated that it has set up a “fair, transparent, and structured” review process to handle the matter thoroughly.

The payment company also noted that the investigation is being conducted in line with its internal policies.

“This process is guided by our policies, our values, and our commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all employees,” the company said.
