‘Petty Dictator!’ Soyinka Blasts Trump In Fiery Interview.

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has described former United States President Donald Trump as a petty-minded dictator.

Soyinka made the remark during an interview published by BBC News Pidgin on Facebook on Wednesday, following reports that his American visa was recently revoked by the Trump administration.

The renowned writer and playwright stated that he was not surprised by Trump’s decision, noting that he had predicted such actions long before they happened.

“This is a petty-minded dictator; you can see how he treats the people he hates,” Soyinka said.

He further criticised Trump for promoting hatred and division during his presidency, saying the country witnessed a surge in police brutality and extrajudicial killings of black people and minorities as a result of his inflammatory rhetoric.

“We saw the dark side of America. There were more killings and extrajudicial murders by the police of black people and minorities during that period, all because of the hate rhetoric of this individual,” he stated.

Soyinka added that he had earlier warned that Trump would take such drastic measures if he came to power.

“I said it clearly, and anyone can check — I said when that man gets into power, the first thing he will do is to cancel even the green cards,” he said.
