Senator Okey Ezea, the representative for Enugu North Senatorial District in Enugu State, has passed away.
Ezea, elected under the Labour Party, was the only member of the National Assembly from Enugu State.
According to reports, Senator Ezea died on Tuesday in the United Kingdom, where he was receiving medical treatment.
The news was shared by well-known media figure ‘Senator’ Chijinkem Ugwuanyi on his Facebook page.
His message read: “Sad news. Senator Okey Ezea, representing Enugu North, has passed on… Rest in peace.”
Before treatment in the UK, Ezea had also sought medical care in Germany.
While the exact details surrounding his death have not yet been disclosed, the news has generated a wave of responses across social media platforms.
