TERROR ATTACKS: Tinubu Should Act Or Resign – Public affairs Analyst.

Tinubu.

A public affairs analyst from Rivers State, Dr Ile Joseph, has raised concern over what he described as an increasing pattern of terrorist attacks and targeted killings against Christians across the country, particularly in the northern region.

Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, Joseph said Nigerians have already endured many years of heavy insecurity and have been “patient enough” with the Federal Government despite the worsening situation.

He called for urgent, decisive measures to confront the crisis.

Joseph, who is also a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, urged President Bola Tinubu to “rise to the challenge and fulfil his constitutional responsibility of securing the lives and property of Nigerians,” adding that if the President is unable to do so, “he should consider resignation”.

He further appealed to the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, to immediately convene a National Emergency Conference in response to what he described as an ongoing “genocidal assault”.

Joseph stressed that the Christian community must adopt a bolder approach in safeguarding vulnerable groups, promoting peace, and supporting victims through humanitarian assistance.

He noted that national security remains the bedrock of economic development, youth empowerment, investor confidence, and national cohesion.

He warned that without rapid and realistic intervention from the government and key stakeholders, the country could face consequences that may become “far more catastrophic for the nation”.

Joseph added that no society can thrive in an environment of fear and instability, insisting that restoring trust in Nigeria’s security institutions has become urgent and essential for the country’s future.
