US May Send Troops, Launch Air Strikes In Nigeria – Trump

United States President Donald Trump has once again threatened to carry out a military operation in Nigeria in response to the ongoing killings of Christians, following the Nigerian Presidency’s proposal for a meeting to address the matter.

Trump made this statement while speaking with journalists aboard Air Force One on Sunday.

When asked whether the United States was considering deploying troops to Nigeria or launching air strikes, Trump replied, “Could be. I mean, a lot of things. I envisage a lot of things.

“They’re killing the Christians and killing them in very large numbers. We’re not going to allow that to happen,” he added.

It will be recalled that Trump, in a strong post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday, disclosed that he had instructed the Pentagon to prepare a potential attack plan for Nigeria. This came a day after he warned that Christianity was “facing an existential threat” in Africa’s most populous nation.

According to Trump, if Nigeria does not stop the killings, the United States will strike and “it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians.”

Meanwhile, Daniel Bwala, spokesperson for Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, said on Sunday that Nigeria remains an important partner to the United States in the global effort against terrorism.

Bwala stated that Nigeria welcomes any assistance from the U.S. in the fight against terrorism as long as such support respects its territorial sovereignty and integrity.
