The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has declared that emergency meetings of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) will hold on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The notice was issued on Monday by the faction’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and shared on his X account by Wike’s media assistant, Lere Olayinka. Both meetings are scheduled to take place at the NEC Hall within the PDP National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The BoT meeting is set for 11:00 a.m., followed by the NEC meeting at 2:00 p.m. The notice emphasised the importance of attendance as critical issues will be discussed.
Previously, during the PDP’s 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, several leading figures—among them Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, ex-Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu—were expelled for purported anti-party conduct.
The motion to expel these members was proposed by former Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, and seconded by Bauchi State PDP Chairman Samaila Buga. Bauchi Governor and PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman Bala Mohammed then put the motion to a voice vote, which delegates overwhelmingly approved, signalling the party’s intent to address internal conflicts firmly.
