ADC Denies Plans For State, LG Congresses.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has stated that it currently has no plans to conduct any state or Local Government congresses.

The party responded to a publication which quoted its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, as directing members to hold congresses for electing new officials, describing the report as a fabrication of the writer’s imagination.

In a statement jointly signed by Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, the party’s Kogi State Chairman and Chairman of the ADC Chairmen’s Forum, and Hon. Kennedy Odion, Edo State ADC Chairman and Secretary of the ADC Chairmen’s Forum, the party revealed that the forum met with Senator Mark on Monday and was surprised by the forged publication that did not come from the party.

The statement reads: “The leadership of the Chairmen’s Forum of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, met with the National Chairman of the party, His Excellency, Senator David Mark.

“During the meeting, the National Chairman clearly stated that the publication calling for state and local government Congresses of the party published in one newspaper did not originate from his office. He also confirmed that he neither authorised nor was aware of the document beforehand, and that it was unknown to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

“Therefore, the said publication is illegal, invalid, and has no effect whatsoever, and should be completely ignored. All party members, stakeholders, and the public are advised to disregard the publication.

“Any claims, notices, or suggestions within the publication indicating that congresses will be held across states at the local government and state levels for the ADC are false and should be entirely disregarded.

“We take this opportunity to reaffirm our unwavering loyalty to the Senator David Mark-led National Working Committee and our dedication to the party’s success in all upcoming elections, including the 2027 general elections,” the statement concluded.
