President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting privately with the Service Chiefs at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja. This is his first meeting with the military leadership since General Christopher Musa (retd) was sworn in as Minister of Defence on December 4.
The discussion comes as 115 students abducted from a Catholic boarding school in November remain missing, raising serious security concerns.
On November 26, Tinubu declared a national security emergency, ordered fresh recruitment into security agencies, and directed the removal of police officers assigned to VIPs.
The meeting also follows the Senate’s approval for the deployment of Nigerian troops to the Republic of Benin, in response to a recent failed coup attempt there.
No further details about the meeting have been made public at this time.
