More than 1,600 delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State are on the ground to choose the party’s governorship candidate ahead of the 2026 election.
The party’s primary election committee concluded the accreditation process at about 10am, signalling that the voting exercise could commence at any time.
In total, 1,660 delegates were selected for the primary, drawn from all local government areas, with five delegates representing each council as well as the Modakeke area office.
The venue of the primary has become fully occupied by delegates, party stakeholders, security operatives and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
As at the time of filing this report, the chairman of the APC primary committee, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, together with other officials from the party’s National Secretariat, had not yet arrived at the venue.
