Former Minister Quits APC, Joins New Party.

Former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress and moved to the Peoples Democratic Party in Taraba State.

In a letter released to journalists in Jalingo, Ikenya said the decision came after careful reflection and consultations. He noted that the switch was made in the best interest of the people of Taraba.

He acknowledged the PDP for its role in shaping his political career, stating that the party had provided him with the opportunities that enabled him to hold various key positions.

Ikenya also expressed gratitude to his supporters for their loyalty throughout his long political journey.

“I am pleased to announce that I have formally defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the interest of my people, Tarabans,” he said.

“You are all aware that the PDP remains the party that has given me the platform to attain all the positions I have ever held in politics, and this is where I believe I am loved,” he added.
