The suspects linked to the killing of a female Federal Road Safety Commission officer, Lasisi Funmilayo, and her 12-year-old daughter have explained in detail how the two victims were murdered.
Those arrested include her male companion, Fajemirokun Victor, aged 38; an herbalist, Gboyega Aberefa, 39; and the herbalist’s assistant, Sunday James, also 38. They further disclosed that the victims were dismembered, with their heads and several vital organs taken away.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday at the Osun State Police Command headquarters, Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, said the investigation began when Fajemirokun’s wife reported to the police that her husband had gone missing. Officers from the anti-kidnapping team followed up the report in Ikoyi, where she said he had travelled, but only his car was discovered abandoned by the roadside.
Gotan explained that additional enquiries led to the arrest of the herbalist on November 16. During questioning, the herbalist stated that Fajemirokun was one of his regular clients and that he brought the FRSC officer and her daughter to his shrine in Ijebu-Jesa on November 2, 2025, for a money ritual. According to him, the two were killed by his boys — Sunday James and two others named Kehinde and Idowu — both of whom are still at large.
While responding to questions from newsmen, Fajemirokun admitted that he took the deceased woman to the herbalist because he had been told that she was the cause of his misfortune.
He said, “After taking her to the temple and I was told she has to be killed for me to make it in life, I agreed to her being killed but after the act I was disturbed and ran away. I went back to Ikoyi and dropped my vehicle on the road side.
“I went to Ibadan and lied to some people that some persons were after my life, so, they contributed money for me and advised that I ran out of the country, hence, I moved to Ghana”.
Aberefa, the herbalist, also explained that Fajemirokun brought both the woman and her daughter and insisted that they be killed.
He said, “He brought the woman and the daughter to my place and claimed that she was behind his misery, demanding that we killed them. Infact he wanted to kill her inside my house but I said no.
“Thereafter, I invited some boys around who took her into the bush, slaughter the mother and daughter. Remove some vital parts and dumped the mother’s body in river in Esa-Odo and that of the daughter in a bush in the area”.
