The Senate has begun the screening of three ambassadorial nominees sent to the upper chamber by President Bola Tinubu.
The screening exercise started on Wednesday and was conducted under the leadership of Senator Sani Bello (APC, Niger North), who heads the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
All three nominees appeared before the committee for evaluation.
The committee is expected to prepare its report and submit it to the full Senate for debate and possible confirmation in the coming days.
During the session, Senator Bello stated that nominee Ayodele Oke had satisfactorily responded to and resolved all earlier allegations associated with him.
President Tinubu had previously forwarded the names of Kayode Are (Ogun State), Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa State), and Ayodele Oke (Oyo State) in a letter read last week by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The three were nominated ahead of an additional list of 32 ambassadorial nominees recently announced by the President, whose names have not yet been formally read out by Akpabio.
