The Senate was thrown into disorder on Wednesday after some lawmakers strongly opposed an attempt to allow former Chief of Defence Staff and ministerial nominee, General Christopher Musa (rtd), to skip questioning.
The tension began when the Senator representing Niger East, Sani Musa, suggested that the nominee should simply “take a bow and go”.
His proposal immediately triggered loud objections, with several senators rising in protest and disrupting the session.
The uproar occurred during the Senate’s screening of General Musa for the role of Minister of Defence.
