A lawyer representing the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has raised fresh concerns over what he described as an alleged growing threat to his life and that of his family.
In a petition dated 29 December 2025, Ejiofor stated that it had become necessary to formally alert the public and the international community about what he referred to as an organised pattern of intimidation and hostile actions.
The lawyer, who hails from Oraifite in the Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, explained that the warning became important due to what he described as increasing risks to his life and the safety of his family members.
He noted that his public alarm had triggered calls, messages, and expressions of concern from a wide range of well-meaning individuals across different sectors of society.
According to the human rights lawyer, despite the level of public concern already shown, the reported threats had not reduced but had instead continued and intensified, prompting him to present what he called a factual and historical account to the global community.
“Recall that I raised a public alarm concerning manifest and credible threats to my life and the safety of my family. That alarm elicited calls, messages, and expressions of deep concern from well-meaning individuals across all strata of society.
“Regrettably, rather than abate, these threats have since persisted and intensified, compelling me to place this factual and historical account before the world.
“It is common knowledge that I am presently at my ancestral home in Oraifite, Anambra State, together with my family, for the Christmas and New Year festivities,” the petition partly read.
