Tinubu Approves Major Appointment.

President Bola Tinubu has confirmed the appointment of retired Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Adamu as the new Chairman of the Military Pensions Board, beginning on 1 December 2025.

According to a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the appointment is in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to improving transparency, accountability, and efficiency in military pension operations.

The statement read: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu (retd.) from Borno State as Chairman of the Military Pensions Board, effective 1 December 2025.

The appointment is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in military pension administration.

President Tinubu charges the new Chairman to uphold integrity, demonstrate patriotism, and deploy his financial expertise to improve the welfare of military veterans.”

Adamu, an indigene of Borno State, is a retired senior Nigerian Air Force officer with strong financial expertise.

His previous roles include Directing Staff at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Deputy Director of Budget at the Defence Intelligence Agency, and Principal Staff Officer (Finance) at the Air Warfare Centre.

He also supervised the 081 Pay and Accounting Group.

Other positions he has held include Director of Finance at the NAF Headquarters, Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited and its subsidiaries, and Directing Staff at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.
