President Bola Tinubu on Friday evening met behind closed doors with the governors of Benue, Kaduna and Cross River states at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, as concerns over security and governance continue to grow nationwide.
Governors Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Uba Sani of Kaduna and Bassey Otu of Cross River reportedly arrived separately at the State House before proceeding to the President’s office for the private discussions.
Details of the meetings were not officially disclosed. However, sources said the talks focused largely on security challenges and other urgent issues confronting the three states.
Communal conflicts, banditry and rising economic pressures were among the matters believed to have been discussed during the engagements.
Following the meetings, the governors avoided comments to the media, exchanging only brief courtesies with journalists before leaving the Presidential Villa.
No official statement had been issued at the time of filing this report on the outcome of the discussions.
