The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will temporarily suspend public operations from Wednesday, 24 December to Friday, 26 December 2025.
During this period, both missions will remain closed in observance of the Christmas holidays.
Normal services are scheduled to resume on Monday, 29 December 2025.
Members of the public have been encouraged to plan their visits and official engagements in line with the holiday timetable.
It should be recalled that the Federal Government has also declared public holidays for Christmas, Boxing Day, and the New Year celebrations.
According to the announcement, 25 December and 26 December 2025 have been designated for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, while 1 January 2026 will be observed as the New Year public holiday.
The declaration was issued by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
