The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reinstated Dr. Danlami Hayyo as the Mandate Secretary for Education and Mr. Michael Ango as the Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS).
This was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister for Public Communication and Social Media.
Wike stressed his zero-tolerance policy for any form of misconduct among officials in the FCT Administration and instructed both officials to resume their duties immediately.
Dr. Hayyo was previously suspended following reports in November that schools in the FCT were closing early due to security concerns—a claim that was later denied by the FCTA, which stated no official directive for school closures by November 28, 2025.
