Ahead of its March 2026 National Convention, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is holding a critical gathering of top party officials and governors.
The closed-door meeting is taking place at the Imo Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja. It is part of the party leadership’s effort to consult with various party organs before the convention begins.
The meeting is led by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, along with members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Governors under the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) are also attending. Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman Hope Uzodimma is present, alongside other governors including Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Mohammed Idris (Kebbi), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos).
Although the official agenda of the meeting has not been released, sources indicate that discussions are likely focused on reviewing the ongoing electronic registration exercise, preparing for ward and local government congresses, and addressing other national and party matters.
