The All Progressives Congress has dismissed claims that a viral membership slip linking wanted bandit leader Bello Turji to the party is genuine.
In a statement released on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the document circulating on social media was created by unknown persons and has no link to the APC registration system.
The party explained that Turji was never registered as a member during the ongoing electronic registration and validation exercise in Zamfara State or any other part of the country.
According to the APC, one clear sign that the slip is fake is the ward number written on it.
The document carries Ward 13 in Shinkafi Local Government Area, but the local government has only 10 wards.
This, the party said, proves that the record could not have come from its official register.
The APC added that none of the details on the slip match any entry in its membership database and that the digital codes on the paper do not belong to the party’s system.
The party accused unnamed individuals of trying to mislead the public and create confusion by linking a known criminal to the ruling party.
It advised members and the general public to ignore the document completely, stressing that Bello Turji has no record as a member of the APC and was never part of its registration exercise.
