APC Taunts Atiku As Son Dumps ADC For Ruling Party.

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has described the decision of Abubakar Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, to reject the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and align with the APC as a serious dent on Atiku’s political credibility.

The Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, stated this in a release issued on Thursday and titled, “You Can’t Trust Atiku More Than His Son,” while reacting to reports that the younger Atiku had defected to the APC.

According to Oladejo, the party observed “with unmistakable clarity the political earthquake” triggered by Abubakar Atiku Abubakar’s choice to abandon what he referred to as the “pretentious ADC contraption” and identify with the APC.

“This singular act has said more than a thousand press conferences ever could,” Oladejo said.

“When a man’s own son deserts his political judgment, repudiates his choices, and embraces an alternative path, Nigerians are entitled to ask what deeper indictment of credibility is required. If those closest to you are unconvinced by your political convictions, how do you expect an entire nation to suspend disbelief?”

Oladejo went on to accuse Atiku Abubakar of long-standing ideological instability, describing his political journey as “a restless odyssey defined by serial defections, transactional alliances, and an obsession with the Presidency.”

“From the PDP to the AC, back to the PDP, and now to the ADC, his politics has been nothing more than a nomadic ambition in search of a party willing to mortgage its soul,” he said.

He maintained that Atiku’s son’s decision to join the APC was “not a coincidence but a confession,” and portrayed it as a generational rejection of “recycled politics, expired ambitions, and leadership without conviction.”

Oladejo added that the move amounted to an endorsement of the APC’s governance record and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Let it be said without equivocation: when credibility collapses at home, it cannot be rehabilitated in the marketplace of national politics,” he stated.

According to him, any leadership that fails to inspire loyalty within its immediate circle cannot earn the confidence of Nigerians at large.

The Lagos APC spokesman welcomed Abubakar Atiku Abubakar into the party and urged Nigerians to “read the political handwriting on the wall.”

“The era of political tourism, moral inconsistency, and ambition without ideology is gasping for relevance,” Oladejo said. “If Atiku’s son has moved on, Nigeria certainly should.”
