No fewer than 95 princes and princesses from the Fusengbuwa Ruling House have formally indicated interest in ascending the Awujale of Ijebuland stool.
The Olori Ebi of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, who also holds the title of Jadiara, disclosed this on Monday during the commencement of the nomination meeting held at the Bisi Rodipe Hall, GRA, Ijebu Ode.
The meeting was attended by key leaders of the ruling house, including the Deputy Olori Ebi, Otunba Ajidagba, Chairman Chief Fassy Yusuf, and other notable members.
Speaking at the gathering, Otunba Owoyemi, a former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), explained that the names of candidates who successfully passed the initial screening stage would be forwarded to the Afobajes.
According to him, the Afobajes will select one candidate from the list as the next Awujale of Ijebuland and subsequently forward the chosen name to the Ogun State Government for approval.
Owoyemi added that any individual dissatisfied with the process has the right to channel their grievances through the appropriate government authorities.
