The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has given brand new SUVs to three Government House staff members after quietly monitoring their work attitude.
In a message shared on January 31, 2026, the governor explained that he deliberately slowed down his schedule to observe whether staff would close early or relax once they thought no one was watching.
According to him, none of the workers he observed left before the end of the workday.
Okpebholo said the gesture was meant to appreciate discipline, dedication and honesty in public service.
He noted that the rewarded staff members were always punctual and stayed committed to their duties without cutting corners.
The governor explained that hard work should not go unnoticed, adding that civil servants who serve the state faithfully deserve encouragement.
He stressed that even when workers think no one is paying attention, their actions are being observed.
He also urged other civil servants to remain focused and committed to their duties, saying the government exists to serve the people of Edo State and good performance will always receive recognition.
