FCTA Workers Storm Industrial Court, Demand Wike’s Removal.

Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, backed by the Nigeria Labour Congress, on Monday staged a protest at the National Industrial Court in Abuja as part of their ongoing total and indefinite strike over unresolved labour issues.

The action followed a directive from the NLC, which announced full support for the strike and described it as a fair response to what it called repeated breaches of workers’ rights by the FCTA leadership and political authorities.

The protest, which took place on January 26, 2026, drew dozens of workers who gathered at the court premises to press their demands and call attention to their grievances against the administration.

During the protest, the workers displayed placards with messages calling for the removal of Nyesom Wike, asking for payment of promotion arrears, demanding proper working tools, and urging the authorities to put an end to what they described as years of neglect and unfair treatment.

Some of the placards carried messages such as Wike must go, Abuja no be Rivers, Pay promotion arrears, Enough is Enough, and No working tools, reflecting anger over unpaid entitlements and poor working conditions.

The workers insisted they would not return to duty until their demands are met and the labour disputes are properly resolved by the authorities.

Officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress were present to support the protesters and monitor the situation as the strike continues.

Details of further actions by the workers and the response of the FCTA management are expected in the coming days.
