The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has approved a new head coach for Enyimba International Football Club in Aba.
The appointment comes as part of the state government’s plan to strengthen the club and return it to top form.
The new coach, Deutsch Detchoua Gustave Emmanuel, holds CAF A, B, and C coaching licenses and has previously worked with several clubs in Nigeria and Cameroon.
He is known for his experience in managing teams and achieving strong results, including winning the Nigeria National League Best Coach Award in 2025.
Enyimba FC has a long history of success, having won the CAF Champions League twice and multiple domestic league titles.
The club is one of Abia State’s most recognized sporting brands in Africa, inspiring many young footballers over the years.
In recent seasons, however, the team’s performance has not matched its past achievements.
Governor Otti and the state government hope that the appointment of Coach Deutsch will improve the club’s technical direction, boost competitiveness, and build a foundation for long-term growth.
The administration aims to strengthen professionalism, ensure proper management, and restore Enyimba to its status as a leading force in Nigerian and African football.
