NJC Sends 14 Names To Tinubu For Federal High Court Judge Appointment.


The National Judicial Council (NJC) has sent a list of 14 candidates to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointment as Judges of the Federal High Court.

The NJC made the recommendations during its 110th meeting, held from January 13 to 14, 2026, under the leadership of Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

Initially, the council awaited security reports on the candidates before forwarding their names. 

After receiving the reports, which showed no issues with any candidate, the NJC submitted the full list to President Tinubu on January 22, 2026.

The candidates recommended for appointment are Amida Hassan Suleiman, Barau Saidu Muhammad, Chinelo Conchita Igboko, Chioma Angela Onuegbu, Edingah Galumje, Vera Eneabo Ibrahim, Musa Usman Abubakar, Aisha Yunusa Salihu, Joy Bassey Ikpeme, Umaru Adamu Shehu, Ibrahim Buba Mohammed, Nendelmum Judith Eigege-Binjin, Kuyik Uduak Usoro, and Osinachi Donatus Nwoye.

The NJC now awaits the President’s approval to finalize the appointments.
