Olubadan Speaks After Meeting Tinubu.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has said he believes President Bola Tinubu can overcome the country’s security problems and restore safety across Nigeria.

The monarch spoke after a private meeting with the president at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, January 23, 2026, where he shared his views on the nation’s challenges and current leadership efforts.

Oba Ladoja said insecurity remains the most pressing issue in the country, noting that farmers and people in rural areas are among the worst affected.

According to him, many citizens are now afraid to go to their farms or move freely to carry out daily activities, as fear has spread from the North to parts of the South.

He stated that although the problem is serious, it can be solved, adding that he has confidence that the president is already working to bring the situation under control.

The Olubadan explained that his visit to the villa was mainly to thank President Tinubu for the support he received after his coronation in September 2025.

He said he had been looking for an opportunity to personally show his appreciation since he ascended the throne.

Speaking on the president’s leadership, the traditional ruler said Tinubu’s past performance in Lagos State shows that he understands governance and has the ability to deliver results.

He expressed hope that similar progress would be seen at the national level.

Oba Ladoja also spoke about the economy, saying Nigeria’s situation is complex because of different interests across the country.

However, he noted that state governments now have more funds and are better able to meet their responsibilities.

He added that the economy is already being worked on and expressed hope that by the time Tinubu completes his tenure in 2031, the country would be in a position that Nigerians can be proud of.
