Presidency Reveals Leader Of APC In Rivers.

The presidency has confirmed that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is the official leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, while Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is not a member of the party and cannot speak for it.

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy and Communication, explained that the APC’s structure in Rivers State is clear, and Fubara must be allowed to carry out his responsibilities without interference.

He noted that Wike, who previously served as Rivers State Governor, is associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state but has no authority within the APC.

Bwala added that President Tinubu supports the rule of law and democratic procedures, and the APC will always respect internal party rules.

He stated that the party stands by its National Chairman’s position that Fubara is the leader in Rivers.

Addressing ongoing political tension in the state, Bwala said that impeachment proceedings must follow the law.

He pointed out that court orders currently prevent any removal of the governor and that the party insists nothing should stop Fubara from governing effectively.

The clarification comes amid growing disputes in Rivers politics, as the APC affirms its leadership structure and its support for lawful governance in the state.
