Southern Kaduna Christians Begin Fasting Over Abducted Church Members.

Christian leaders in Southern Kaduna have announced a period of fasting and prayer following the reported abduction of 163 worshippers in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The worshippers were taken on Sunday from three churches in the Kurmin Wali community, an incident that has caused fear and anger across the area.

The Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association made the announcement through its chairman, Apostle Emmanuel Kure.

He said the group had agreed on a two-day fasting and prayer programme as a spiritual response to the attack.

According to the plan, the fasting will start on Friday and end on Sunday with special prayer sessions in churches across Southern Kaduna.

The association said the programme is meant to seek God’s help for the safe release of those taken away and for peace to return to the affected communities.

The leaders said believers from different churches would take part together as a sign of unity at a difficult time.

Christians in Southern Kaduna and other parts of the country were asked to join in the prayers and also show care and support to the families of the kidnapped worshippers, many of whom are now in deep pain and worry.

The leaders also called on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to act quickly to rescue the victims.

They said stronger steps must be taken to stop the repeated cases of kidnapping in Kajuru and nearby areas.

The association said it would continue to rely on prayer but would also keep pressing those in charge of security to do their duty and protect lives and property.
