President Bola Tinubu has arrived in the United Arab Emirates ahead of the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit.
The President arrived at approximately 11:00 p.m. local time and was greeted upon arrival by the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs.
His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed that Tinubu is attending the summit at the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to Onanuga, the annual global forum brings together leaders from governments, businesses and international organisations to deliberate on sustainable development, energy transition and climate action.
This year’s summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” is expected to focus on integrated solutions to global sustainability challenges.
President Tinubu had departed Nigeria on December 28, leaving Lagos for what the Presidency described as an end-of-year break in Europe.
During the trip, he was seen in France last week, where he held a meeting with Rwanda’s President.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the week-long summit in Abu Dhabi.
