A man was shot dead by United States federal agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as authorities conducted an immigration operation in the city.
The incident occurred amid protests against the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies, with crowds marching through cold winter streets to voice their opposition.
Federal officials said the operation targeted an individual wanted for violent assault.
During the operation, the man approached agents with a firearm.
Officers tried to stop him, but he resisted, prompting an agent to open fire. Emergency responders arrived quickly but could not save him.
The victim has been confirmed as a 37-year-old US citizen.
This marks the third deadly encounter involving federal agents in Minneapolis this month.
Earlier, an ICE officer fatally shot a woman in her car while she observed protests against immigration crackdowns.
Authorities identified her as Renee Nicole Good, also 37 years old.
The repeated shootings have drawn criticism from state officials, who called for the withdrawal of federal officers from the city.
Minnesota leaders said the presence of federal agents has escalated tensions and poses risks to residents and local law enforcement.
