Leader of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, David Ibiyeomie has revealed that the ongoing clash between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike is spiritual.
He said the dispute is beyond human ability to resolve and only divine intervention can bring peace.
In a video shared widely online, Ibiyeomie traced a history of political conflicts in the state, noting a pattern of protégés turning against their mentors.
He recounted that former Governor Peter Odili fought his predecessor Rufus Ada George, while Chibuike Amaechi opposed Odili after benefiting from him.
Wike, in turn, clashed with Amaechi, and now Fubara is challenging Wike.
The pastor warned that the cycle would continue even when Fubara eventually chooses a successor.
He said the problem is not political in nature but spiritual, and attempts by influential figures, including the President, have failed to bring resolution.
Ibiyeomie concluded that only God can address the tension, as no human effort has been able to resolve the long-standing conflicts in Rivers State.
He said: "Because if God speaks to me, I will say it. No mortal man, I repeat, can solve the problem of Rivers State. No mortal man. It’s not a physical problem.
“Has the President been able to solve it? No. I will give you a story so you can understand. I’m a man of God. Ada George was a governor and Peter Odili was under him. Odili fought him.
“Amaechi was Odili’s boy; Amaechi fought him. Wike was Amaechi’s boy; Wike fought him. Sim was the boy to Wike and they are fighting. It can never be solved by any physical man, except by the hand of God.
“This is because it’s not a physical problem. Even if Sim picks somebody today, the person will fight him. It’s a spiritual problem. They have tried all means, even the President, and have not been able to solve the problem.”
