ADC Afraid Over Our Rising Membership, Says APC.

The All Progressives Congress has rejected allegations by the African Democratic Congress that civil servants are being forced to join the ruling party through its ongoing electronic membership registration.

The reaction came in Abuja on Monday, February 2, 2026, following claims by the ADC that public workers across different states were being pressured to enroll in the APC.

The opposition party had raised concerns through its spokesman, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

Responding to the accusation, the APC said the claim was untrue and misleading.

The party explained that the allegation was driven by panic over the growing number of Nigerians signing up through the digital registration process.

According to the APC, the electronic registration has attracted a large turnout from citizens who willingly chose to register without any form of pressure.

The party added that the process is open, voluntary, and based on personal choice.

The ruling party also accused the ADC of spreading false information, recalling an earlier case where a fake APC membership slip was circulated to wrongly link a terrorist suspect to the party.

It said such actions showed a repeated attempt to mislead the public.

The APC stated that the success of the registration exercise led to an extension of the timeline to allow more interested Nigerians to participate.

It linked the rising interest to public approval of the policies and programmes of the current administration.

The party maintained that the e-registration reflects progress in political organization and innovation, insisting that attempts to discredit the exercise would not stop its continued growth.
