The Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON) has congratulated Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, PhD, on his appointment as Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
In a
congratulatory letter and greeting card signed by SDNON President, Dr. Adeniyi
Ifetayo, and Secretary, Seunmanuel Faleye, the association described the
appointment as well-deserved, citing Dr. Ebojele's professionalism, integrity,
and long-standing contribution to media practice in Nigeria.
The
goodwill congratulatory message was delivered on Friday, January 30, during a
reception organised by Friends of the CPS at the Nigeria Union of Journalists
(NUJ) Press Centre, Benin City.
Speaking
at the event, Dr. Ifetayo said the appointment reflects the confidence reposed
in Dr. Ebojele's ability to manage government communication effectively.
"This appointment reflects the confidence reposed in Dr. Ebojele's
professional capacity, integrity, and proven ability to manage government
communication effectively. We are confident he will discharge this
responsibility with excellence and contribute meaningfully to the success of
Governor Okpebholo's administration," he stated.
Dr.
Ifetayo was represented at the occasion by the Welfare Secretary of the
association, Iyabo Aina, alongside three publishers—Messrs. Precious Eze,
Victor Osehobo, and Adebisi—who conveyed the goodwill message on behalf of
SDNON leadership and members.
Speaking
during the visit, Aina said SDNON was proud to associate with what she
described as a historic appointment, adding that Dr. Ebojele's wealth of
experience in media practice would strengthen public communication and deepen
transparency in Edo State governance. "SDNON remains fully committed to
supporting his work and the broader communication goals of the Edo State
Government," she added.
Responding,
Dr. Ebojele expressed appreciation to SDNON for their message of goodwill and
pledged his readiness to work with all media practitioners in the interest of
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and the state government. He
appealed for cooperation to achieve this objective.
